Pele Yoetz and an anonymous e-mailer
An anonymous e-mailer sent me some beautiful quotes from the Pele Yoetz a few weeks ago. I had never heard of this rabbi before so I looked up some information about him on the internet and also purchased the book The Essential Pele Yoetz: An Encyclopedia of Ethical Jewish Living.
From what I have seen of it so far, this is not a book that one reads, but rather one to return to time and time again for advice and guidance.

You've probably heard of this title already, but I like to refer to The Jewish Encyclopedia of Moral and Ethical Issues by Nachum Amsel. It's organized by subject and cross-refs with Hebrew sources. If you haven't heard about it, I highly recommend it.

I beg to respectfully disagree.
True, there is much gain from going back to it anytime and reading again the appropriate section. But if somebody has the chance to read it entirely in the first place, the gain would be much greater. BTW, it is a book which deserves much more attention than it has. Even I discovered it very late...
