Splitting The Sea

The Gemara (Pesachim 118a) says that earning a parnossa - livelihood - is as difficult as splitting the sea. In what way is parnossa analogous to the splitting of the sea? ...in earning one's livelihood, an individual may have many plans and calculations, but ultimately Hashem often provides him an unanticipated source of income.
