When was this picture taken?
A few years ago on my trip there.
beautiful?!?how do you fail to see the hell and pain that was realized there?
Both Golus Traveler and Amshinover are correct.
The beauty of this Ukrainian shtetl is very deceiving. On the last day of our visit to the shtetl we discovered a mass grave in a backyard where some of the shtetl's Jews had been buried alive during the Holocaust. The mass grave was marked with a small memorial plaque with an inscription in Yiddish. (I plan to post pictures of this memorial in the future.)
