The Flames Continued Throughout The Tenth Day

How is it that we do not cringe each time we see a picture of the gold dome sitting atop the site where the Beis HaMikdash once stood?

Have we become so desensitized over the years to this insult, whose presence clearly manifests that even in Eretz Israel we are still in a dark golus?

I shudder when thinking of the planned expulsion of my brothers and sisters in Gush Katif and the Shomron, knowing that the same baseless hatred that brought about the destruction on the day of Tisha B'Av will bring about a destruction on the day after as well.

Any generation in which the Beis HaMikdash is not rebuilt, is considered as if they had destroyed it.

All true, SY. But yet - as we saw some half-a-million people gather against the evil expulsion plan in the last two days - a quarter million at the Makom HaMikdash in Yerushalayim - with all hats and strips - and a similar amount in Tel-Aviv last night. There is much hope here in G-d's Holy Land that somehow the promise [hope?] of the Rabbeim, that 'THIS WILL NOT BE' will be fulfilled.

Of course, "the mensch tracht, und G-tt lacht," or as the British put it, "Man proposes, but G-d disposes."

We shall see in the next few days and weeks what Hashem has in store for us. Meanwhile, we have to do our best and Return to Him, for that's the order of the Day!!!

Good Shabbos,
yitz

Correction - that should be "stripes" instead of "strips" in my previous post, which I posted anonymously.

i really like this blog!
i think the most important thing in this time is to just daven to Hashem that the Jewish people will be ok and that no blood should C"V be spilt. Hashem works in wonderous ways and even if the disengagement seems like an impending horror, we really just need to daven to Hashem that the Yidden be safe...just always remember that no matter what, it's still Hashem's plan

You are a Ba'al Emes. Kudos on putting it so simply. I would like to post this on Hamikdash with an appropriate link if I may.

Baseless hatred is destroying Gush Katif? Really? I thought it was a desire to keep Jews and Israel safe. Anyway, the Jews of GK aren't being destroyed. They are being taken into Israel, in the fulfillment of 2000 years of Tisha Bav prayers.

just wanna comment on the previous entry(Kovno). I just read "Responsa from the Holocaust", the book from which you pulled the entry. The book makes my heart&soul weep bitterly.
