On A Mere Weekday

The opportunities for ascent that the Golus offer are much greater than those that were available while the Beis Hamikdash stood. Since the mitzvos are much more difficult to perform, they are therefore more precious. During the era of the Golus, even the prayers of a simple Jew on a mere weekday parallel the service of the Kohen Gadol on Yom Kippur.
