Is today your birthday? Hope you have a very happy one, and a healthy, happy year!
What an outstanding person your grandfather was! That is the kind of yichus it is an honor to (try to) live up to!
Your dream of having him beside you as you study your past rings true for me, too---I often feel a strange but comforting sense of connection with my ancestors, as if they are guiding me and helping me find them in the records, if I will only look hard and dig deep enough.
It makes sense that your birthday is on Chanukah ASJ- you seem to have a knack for lighting up dark places (like the internet!) Today, Yud Gimel Kislev is my baby daughter's first birthday- I hope the zchus of your grandfather will stand for her and all of us :-)
Happy Birthday! May you have many more happy years, filled with nachas from your family, and may you grow from strength to strength in Torah and Avodah. B'limud hachassidus u'b'darkei hachassidus.
Haapppy birrrthdayyy toooo youuu. Haaapppppy birrrthdaaaay to Youuuuuu. Haaaaappppy birthdaaay dear SJ. Haaappppy birrthdaaaaay tooooooo YOUUUUUUU! And many many more.
My birthday was actually on Friday (December 1). My Hebrew birthday is on Chanukah (25 Kislev). Your galus mentality is showing, ASJ! You should have written: My birthday is actually on Chanukah - 25 Kislev; (while my secular birthday was on Friday December 1). And by now you should remember that 13 Kislev is also the Yahrzeit of the first Modzitzer Rebbe, the Divrei Yisrael!
