Light After Darkness

This copy of Sefer Baal Shem Tov was printed by Holocaust survivors in the Landsberg Displaced Persons Camp (1948).

This was actually sponsored by the US Army. They also printed Shas, siddurim and a haggodah. I have one such haggodah. I believe that it was R. Eliezer Silver who persuaded the Army that this is important for rehabilitation of the DPs.
