164 Bullets

I like to imagine that every pasuk of Tikkun HaKlali that I recite is a bullet that penetrates my yetzer hara. 164 pasukim; 164 bullets. Perhaps there is no coincidence that the phrase "b'etzev", which means "in pain" also shares a gematria of 164. Every pasuk of Tikkun Haklali that I say during my 40 day offensive causes my yetzer hara to be in pain and destroys it a little more.

I didn't make up this gematria by combining words. I found the gematria for 164 in the book "Spice of Torah-Gematria" by Rabbi Locks. The phrase "b'etzev" can be found in the Torah in Bereishis 3:16.

This book also points out that the word "lifleita" - refuge/salvation also has a gematria of 164.
