This reminds me of my eye exam, a few days ago, except that, looking into the instrument, I saw concentric circles, not ovals, and in the center was my own eye, looking back at me. So, in that context, your photo seems to represent a view through a tunnel, looking at the inner essence of something. I wonder what the mysterious object was!
Cool!
Wow, ASJ, this picture is so organic and so unrestrained! It's been a while since I stopped by -- my apologies b/c I do so like your photography. This seems completely new for you. Your photos are often so structured --- sometimes for an amazing effect (for a while there, your pictures had an amazing, cool, distanced vintage quality there) and sometimes less effectively so (there have been a few that have seemed a bit forced). I haven't yet seen you do anything quite like this picture here, the play of light and dark plays with the viewer's perceptions, and there is a sense of freedom, of light ... this picture almost has a heartbeat. What's great about a photo like this is that it shows how curious you are. I admire your willingness to experiment. This is an exuberant photo that is both beautiful to look at AND communicates how much you truly enjoy taking pictures.
Thank you all SO much for your feedback!
