My wife just e-mailed me and told me that our 16-month old daughter is now "reading" the IKEA catalog to the fish.

:-)

How big is the tank? What kinds of fish?

It is a 20 gallon tank with 5 small platys. My wife originally bought 6 but one went missing on the first day and the "mother" laid eggs on day two.

At my urging, I think we might get some bigger ones next week ;)

Platys are live bearers, they don't lay eggs!

Ploni: I stand corrected. My wife just told me she witnessed the live births.

Now it looks like she is a qualified fish doula! ;)

Ah...very nice. The best is to sit Shabbos night after the time turns the light out and just veg out looking at your tank. IMHO, a little l'chaim also helps!
