Still Young Inside
Although I am 36 years-old, I don't feel this age inside. Me, an adult??? I simply can't believe it. Even though I have children of my own, my first inclination when spilling something or breaking something by accident is to flee the scene, pretend I didn't do it, and let someone else tend to my mess.
Of course as a "mature" adult, I resist this inclination and clean it up.

LOL!
Yeah, us "Peter Pan's" of the world can relate...
This is why we don't have carpet.
I totally relate. The best we can do is try to be a good example for our children. That is an "adult" thing to do.
This brings back memories, and I can totally relate, being the adult and grandmother that I am.
This happened to me when I broke a glass at a restaurant the other day ... precisely.
How about when I broke a cup washing dishes, and immediately afterwards a bowl? (Chaval that I didn't break a big plate and a little plate to complete the set...)
I don't think you- or I- or anyone else- will ever be a "mature" adult. There is a child inside each of us....yours likes others to do things for you; mine is an imp. So? Be a kid, it's much more fun.
I am 33 but in my mind I have been 18 for the past 15 years. A wise friend of mine told me that he believes that everyone stays at one age for the span of their lives. While he is significantly older than me, he claims to still be at the age of 4.
I like the juxtaposition of this blog and the one that follows on the topic of anger. I'm in my mid 50's, and like you I still can't think of myself as an adult. When I spill some liquid, rather than flee, I throw a temper tantrum! In the world of Yekes, 'nass' is a near crime.
