I listended to the Lubavitcher Rebbe's discourse about non-kosher meditation. It was very intersting, the 1st time I hear him mention the word : "Hitbodedoute". Does anyone if he ever spoke about "Hitbodedoute" in the Kosher way like Rav Nachman talks about it ?
I once heard from Reb Shmuel Heitler that once he was present at a farbrengen in 770 on the second day of Chol HaMo'ed Sukkos -- which is Reb Nachman's yahrtzeit -- and the Lubavitcher Rebbe began to speak about hisbodedus and how it is good to go out into the fields or woods every so often to commune with Hashem. Reb Shmuel caught the eye of another friend in the crowd who had a liking for the Breslov seform, and they both smiled at each other. Clearly, the Rebbe was commemorating Reb Nachman's yahrtzeit this way.
Wow. That is the 1st story I hear that actually could be verified!
For some reason I notice that some Chabad are not willingly to acknowledge Rabbi Nachman's koah in today's generation.
But then when I think about it, if I were present at one of the Lubavitcher Rebbe's farbrengen - I probably would have been very very attached and naturally "shy" from other paths....
Sefer Shivcho Shel Tzaddik has seven separate quotes from Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson praising Rebbe Nachman, on pp 130-132.
It also has several other pages of quotes in praise of Rebbe Nachman that come from Chabad Rebbes: Rabbis Shneur Zalman of Liadi, Menachem Mendel of Lubavitch (the Tzemach Tzedek), Yosef Yitzchak of Lubavitch, and as well as Rabbi Avraham Dov Ber Levine.
I meant in paragraph 2 of my comment "other Chabad Rebbes"....obviously the most recent Rebbe was a Chabad Rebbe too!
