Caffeine Detox - Part III
Yesterday's fast was extremely easy since I gave up caffeine on Rosh Chodesh Av.
After smelling its strong aroma, I have been tempted to buy a cup of coffee at times during the past month. Thanks to my willpower, I was able to resist the urge.
While I don't think I am going to give coffee and up forever, I am going try to go a little while longer. The benefits of not drinking it far outweigh the negative side effects.

I am not a coffee drinker, but I have heard from many how much better they feel when they are off caffeine. I think it's great that you have such strong willpower!
You must be one of the few people who doesn't drink it. How about soda?
I drink coffee occasionally, and quit Coke altogether. That sure helped, feeling much better. But just now and then a cup of cappucino.
I might very well be one of the only ones! Never drink soda or seltzer either. My only caffeine is from chocolate, hot chocolate and the ocassional frappacino...
Danon: An occasional cappucino certainly sounds nice!
MCAryeh: I still eat chocolate candy and drink hot chocolate so I am not off caffeine 100%....just coffee and soda.
Well there are always caffine sypositories :). Thank goodness I'm not addicted.

I'm one of the other few...that doesn't drink coffee. I do drink both hot chocolate and soda, but I recently started drinking Diet Sprite instead of Diet Coke. I'm not sure if I feel a difference...I hadn't really thought about it.
Stx: Do you not drink coffee because you don't like the taste?
i am a caffeine addict and many times (usually fast days) contemplate giving it up. but then i realize that it is a small pleasure to sit with a cup of coffee before any of the kids are awake and in middle of a hectic day. also going out with a good friend for coffee talk. why give that up? there are many negs and pos to drinking coffee but i really enjoy my relationship with caffeine
Gabrielle: Those are certainly good reasons. I quit caffeine as a personal test of resolve. I am not trying to advocate that others do the same.
